Exclusivo, a Grade 1 winner last year at two, won his fifth straight race on Aug. 21 with a dominating 4 1/4-length victory in the Grade 2 Clasico Antonio Mongil Jr. S. at Camarero Race Track in Puerto Rico.
The Warrior's Reward colt is one of four North American stakes horses this year for his sire, who ranks in the top 10 on the Third-Crop Sire list, a ranking he's held every year at stud.
Exclusivo was hung some four wide into the first turn after breaking from post seven and continued track in third well off the rail for the backstretch run. Jockey Erick Ramirez moved his mount for the lead on the turn, forging to the front at the head of the lane and pulling away from that point to win comfortably.
Exclusivo has now won five of seven starts for owner L. A. R. Stable Corp. The colt is out of Champagne Royal, a four-time stakes winner who won or placed in 10 added-money events.
