Controlled Fury was a front-running winner going six furlongs at Gulfstream Park in Florida, winning by a length in 1:11.65. The Florida-bred is the first foal out of Carolinaonmymind and is owned by Stonehedge LLC.
Strike Lightning rallied from well off the pace to win his 5 1/2-furlong contest by a convincing 4 1/2-lengths at Camarero Race Track in Puerto Rico. The bay colt was bred by Spendthrift Farm and is owned by Aquino Stable. He is the first foal out of Shy Girl, who is a sister to three stakes winners.
