Saturday, May 28, 2016

Cover Song, a three-year-old filly by Fastnet Rock, broke her maiden impressively in her first start on turf in a US$58,000 Maiden Special Weight race Friday at Santa Anita Park in Los Angeles, California [VIDEO].

A US$450,000 yearling purchase by Spendthrift, the talented bay filly is the first foal out of the multiple Group 1 millionaire Galileo (Ire) mare Misty For Me, a champion juvenile filly in Europe.

The win was one of the initial victories from Spendthrift's ever-growing stable of Australian-pedigreed racehorses. Spendthrift plans to continue to campaign and develop Australian pedigrees and racehorses in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
